Laurie and Ken MacDonald's Place

Welcome to the Beautiful Island of Cape Breton. We really hope you injoy your stay. Although we live in Ottawa, Ontario, our hearts will always be in Cape Breton Island. Hi, there, my name is Laurie.

 
Ken and I are proud to announce the arrival of our little baby girl, Sasha Leigh MacDonald. She was born on August 10, 2001. She is beautiful and we can't wait to show her the sites in Cape Breton. Sasha and I are heading down to the Island on the 18th of October.

Hi, there, my name is Laurie. I grew up in the land of Little Bras D'or Nova Scotia. I met a wonderful guy named Ken on one of my Co-op workterms in Ottawa. Yup.. I fell in love. I moved to Ottawa in 1996, well a little out side of Ottawa in a little Village called Stittsville. Beautiful place I might add.

I work for National Defense Canada as a Network Administrator. Yup-I am a techie. I am on maternity leave right now and I don't have to return to work until the 29th of July 2002. Isn't that sweet. DND is a nice place to work and you get to meet lots of people.

My family still resides in Florence, Cape Breton. My Mother's Name is Joan Carey. Her maden name was Buffett. My Father's name is Sandy (Sander) Carey. My Brother's name is Stephen Carey. I have a very special little niece that I really do not get to see very often her name is Georgia Lynn White.

Addition to the family. My inlaws, from the other side, Glace Bay that is. Kenny and Barbara MacDonald and Florence MacDonald and Allan MacDougall.

Cape Breton is an awsome place to live. I lived there for 22 years of my life and had to leave home for work. I'm not saying I don't love Ottawa. It's just not the same. You're never five minutes from the ocean here though. If any one now living in Ottawa from Cape Breton wishes to drop us a line please do so. Even if you are not living in Cape Breton, we would still like to hear from any fellow Cape Bretoner.
