Jim & Mona Anderson

This summer, we bought a big old cruising boat, which should keep us busy for awhile. Hobbes, our J/80, has been sold and has gone back to the U.S. to be raced in a fleet down there. We did a modest amount of racing this summer as crew for other folks and had a lot of fun. Our new boat is called Fallwind. Here are a couple of shots of her. (That's me on the aftdeck. Mona is up the mast with the camera.)

Only one of us is a real Caper. That's me, Jim.

But Mona has been granted Honourary Caper status.

I work for Bell Canada. Mona works for a small insurance company. We live in Toronto and sail on Lake Ontario. Winters are usually pretty quiet. We spend our time watching movies, working on the computer, and planning for the (next) summer.

My father was Herbert Anderson. My mother was Anne Crowdis. I grew up in Baddeck. I still have family and many friends in Cape Breton. We visit as often as we can. We hope to return to Cape Breton when we retire. We have no children but we have two cats, Francis & BJ. Mona is from Orillia, Ontario.

Baddeck has always been my home even when I'm away....
