Searching for a little piece of heaven somewhere out there to call our own.

 
Well my husband's name is Gordon Cadwell who is originally from Little Pond. Im Elizabeth, the wife, originally from Vancouver Island, BC, which is exactly where we are. We have 2 children, age 12 and 5, a golden retriever and 4 cats. Gord and I met here while he was posted to a CF base where I just happen to work. We got married and got posted to CFB Lahr, Germany for 4 years and then returned back to Vancouver Island because of my family. Well, he's out of the military,(took early retirement - cooks trade) and after living here for 9 years or so, we are thinking about moving back to Nova Scotia. Just not sure whether to go to Halifax area or back up to Cape Breton. We want our children to know the rest of the family which is still there in Little Pond as well as my husbands' twin and his family who are in Dartmouth.
Gord has been working as a commissionnaire since he got out of the military and Im a stay at home mom. The kids keep us busy so we don't seem to have much time for anything else, but I like to do crafts, Gord likes his tv, wwf stuff.lol
Gordon's fathers' name was Joseph Cadwell, his mother's name was Marcella Jobes. Gord's father worked in the mines with his brother Jim. Both parents passed on very early in life leaving 7 children to be taken care of by different relatives. Gord's fathers' brother and wife, Nancy and Jim Cadwell raised Gord and his 3 other brothers along with 5 of their own children, a truly amazing couple.
Well Gord left because of work and joined the military just like 5 other children in the family did. He was back perhaps twice in 15 years for a wedding and his grandmother's funeral. Now as we get older I think it would be nice for him to be closer to home. He's been so far away for so long. Its almost impossible to visit as it costs too much to get there. So perhaps a move is in order.
